Terms of Service
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Path Finance LLC, an Indiana limited liability company ("Path", "we" or "us"). They govern your use of the Path website and service at pathfinance.app (the "Service"). You accept these Terms when you create an account. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose personal information.
Your Account
- You must be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, and not be barred from receiving services under U.S. law.
- Each account is for one person. You may not share your sign-in, create an account for someone else, or create an account by automated means.
- You must provide accurate information and keep your email address current. We send account and billing messages to it.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@pathfinance.app if you believe someone else has used it. We are not liable for losses caused by your failure to keep your sign-in secure.
Use of the Service
- You may use the Service only for your own personal finances, including accounts you share with others, such as a joint account. You may connect only financial accounts that you own or are authorized to access.
- You may not use the Service to break the law; access, or try to access, another person's account or data; probe, scan or test the security of the Service, or overload or interfere with it; copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell any part of it; or access it other than through the interfaces we provide.
- We may limit use that degrades the Service for others, such as excessive automated requests.
- If you find a security vulnerability, report it to support@pathfinance.app and do not test it further.
Subscription and Payment
- The Service requires a paid subscription, billed monthly or annually. Prices are shown before you subscribe.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period until you cancel. We charge your payment method at the start of each period. Before an annual plan renews, we email you a reminder.
- Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method through Stripe for each period until you cancel.
- If a payment fails, we may retry it. If it remains unpaid, we pause your access until you pay the open balance or subscribe again.
- You can switch between the monthly and annual plans. Any charge or credit for the switch is shown before you confirm it.
- Prices do not include taxes. If we are required to collect tax on the Service, we will tell you before we add it to your charges.
- Payments are non-refundable, and we do not prorate partial periods, except:
- if you tell us within 14 days of a renewal charge that you meant to cancel, we will refund that charge and end the subscription;
- if we end your subscription without cause or discontinue the Service, we will refund the unused part of the period you paid for;
- when you switch from the monthly to the annual plan, the unused part of your current month is credited toward the annual charge; and
- where the law requires a refund.
- We may provide free access to some accounts and may end it at any time. You can then subscribe to keep using the Service.
- If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us at support@pathfinance.app. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, we may pause your access while the dispute is open.
Cancellation
- You can cancel your subscription at any time online, in the Service's billing settings. If you cannot, email support@pathfinance.app from your account's email address and we will cancel it for you. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- When your access ends, whether because you cancelled or because a payment failed, we keep your account and records, and you can resume by subscribing again. We will disconnect your financial institutions within 60 days. The records already in the Service remain.
Suspending or Deleting Your Account
- You can suspend your account at any time in your profile settings. Suspending ends your subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the paid period, disconnects your financial institutions, and signs you out. Your records are kept, and you can ask us to restore the account. To keep access until the end of a paid period, cancel first and suspend later.
- You can permanently delete your account and your information at any time in your profile settings. Deleting ends your subscription immediately, without a refund, and cannot be undone. Our Privacy Policy describes what we keep after a deletion.
Restricting or Closing Accounts
- We may restrict or end your access to the Service, or close your account, if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, use the Service fraudulently or in a way that harms other users, us or the Service, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
- We may also close your account for any other reason with at least 30 days' notice, and refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
- If we close your account, we handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to the Service and Prices
- We may change, add or remove features of the Service, including when a provider we depend on, such as Plaid or a financial institution, changes what it offers. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
- We may change our prices. We will notify you by email and in the Service at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and it applies from your first renewal after that notice period. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before that renewal.
Connected Accounts
- The Service uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect to your financial institutions. We do not see or store the username or password that you use to sign in to your financial institution. By connecting an account, you grant us and Plaid the right, power and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from your financial institution, including account details, balances, transactions and investment holdings. You agree to your information being transferred, stored and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- The Service only reads information from your financial institutions. It cannot move money, pay bills, place trades or make changes at your financial institution.
- Connections depend on your financial institutions and on Plaid. A connection can stop working, and some institutions and accounts are not supported. Information from your financial institutions may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and we do not guarantee it.
- You can disconnect an account at any time. The records already in the Service remain.
No Financial Advice
- The Service helps you record, organize and plan your finances, for your information only. Path is not a bank, broker, investment adviser, tax preparer, lender or credit counselor. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
- Balances, plans, reports, investment values, suggestions and other figures in the Service are calculated from your records and from information provided by third parties, and may be incomplete or wrong. Check important figures against your financial institutions' statements before relying on them.
- Scheduled transactions and reminders do not make payments. You remain responsible for paying your bills on time.
Your Information and Our Property
- The records you create in or import into the Service, and the information the Service downloads for you, remain yours. You give us a limited license to store, copy, process and display them to provide the Service to you, including keeping backups.
- We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, and the Path name and logo. Using the Service gives you no ownership rights in it. You may not copy, modify or resell any part of the Service, or use the Path name or logo, without our written permission.
- If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Third-Party Services
Your financial institutions, Plaid and Stripe provide their services under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions or availability.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Path disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Path is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or fees, penalties or interest from a late or missed payment, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. This includes damages resulting from information or calculations in the Service that are delayed, incomplete or wrong, from unauthorized access to your information, or from the acts of third parties such as your financial institutions, Plaid and Stripe, even if we were advised of the possibility of those damages.
Path's total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of $49 or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some states do not allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You will indemnify Path against third-party claims, and the costs of defending them, that arise from your violation of these Terms or of the law, including connecting a financial account you are not authorized to access.
Disputes and Governing Law
- Before starting a legal claim, contact us at support@pathfinance.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any protection that the law of your state gives you and that cannot be waived by contract.
- Any claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Boone County, Indiana, and you and Path consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date and, for a material change, notify you by email and in the Service at least 30 days before it takes effect. A change required by law, or needed to protect the security of the Service, may take effect sooner. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
General
- These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Path about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, we do not waive it.
- We may transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business. You may not transfer your account or these Terms.
- You agree to receive notices electronically, by email to your account's email address and in the Service.
- The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive the end of your account survive it, including those on payment, ownership, warranties, liability, indemnity and disputes.
