Privacy policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This privacy policy describes how Path Finance LLC ("Path", "we" or "us") collects, uses and discloses personal information in connection with the Path website and service at pathfinance.app (the "Service"). The Service is available only to individuals 18 or older who reside in the United States.
Information we collect
Profile and sign-in information. Information you provide to sign up and set up your profile, such as your email address, name, username, password and settings.
Financial information you enter. The accounts, transactions, categories, notes, plans, reminders and other records you create in or import into the Service.
Information from your financial institutions. When you connect a financial account, Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") collects information from your financial institution and provides it to us. This includes the institution’s name; account names, types and the last digits of account numbers; balances; transaction details, such as dates, amounts, descriptions, merchant names and locations, and categories; and investment holdings and transactions. We do not see or store the username or password that you use to sign in to your financial institution. Plaid’s use of your information is governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
Payment information. Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") processes subscription payments and collects your payment card information directly. We receive information about your subscription and payments, such as your plan, subscription status, billing dates and amounts, the name on the card, the card’s brand, last four digits, expiration date and issuing country, the billing ZIP code, and Stripe’s fraud-risk assessments. Stripe’s use of your information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Communications. The content of messages you send us.
Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser type and version, the pages and resources you request, referring addresses, the time zone your browser reports, and the dates and times of your requests and sign-ins.
Cookies and local storage. We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to keep settings, session status and unfinished work on your device. When you use features provided by Plaid or Stripe within the Service, those companies may set their own cookies and collect information about your device and your online activity over time and across different websites, as described in their privacy policies.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain and improve the Service;
- create and administer your account, and authenticate you;
- process subscriptions and payments, and keep billing records;
- send you messages about your account, such as verification, password-reset and service notices;

How we disclose information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only as follows:
- Service providers. To companies that provide hosting, data storage and backup, email delivery, payment processing and similar services to us, which may use the information only to provide those services.
- Plaid and Stripe. To Plaid and Stripe as needed to connect your accounts and process payments. They also process information for their own purposes, such as fraud prevention and legal compliance, under their privacy policies.
- Legal and safety. When required by law or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Path, our users or others, or to investigate fraud, security issues or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business.
- With your consent or at your direction.
Data retention
We keep personal information until you permanently delete your account, including after your subscription ends or you suspend your account. When you permanently delete your account, we delete your personal information, except subscription and payment records, which we keep for seven years for tax and accounting purposes, and other information the law requires us to keep. Deleted information may remain in backups and server logs until they expire, within 120 days.
Your choices
- Access and correction. You can review and update your information and records in the Service.
- Suspending or deleting your account. In your profile settings, you can suspend your account, or permanently delete your account and your information. You can also ask us to do either.
- Connected accounts. You can disconnect a financial account in the Service at any time; we then stop receiving its information from Plaid.
- Do Not Track. The Service does not respond to Do Not Track signals.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, for example by confirming the request from the email address on your account.
Security
We maintain administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration and loss. These include encryption of information in transit and of database backups, and access to personal information limited to personnel who need it to operate and support the Service. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the Service and by email before the changes take effect.
